Take Care of Yourself
Use websites for assigned classwork only
Use the Internet only for approved activities
Ask the teacher before using game sites or watching video clips
Keep password, login, and personal information (birthdate, address, phone number, etc.) private
Turn off the screen and tell the teacher if inappropriate images pop up
Take Care of Others
Use respectful words online and refrain from viewing, sending, or displaying inappropriate pictures or messages
Report any cyber bullying or inappropriate behavior to a teacher or school administrator
Cause no damage or potentially damage other individuals’ work
Keep settings as they are on all technology devices (iPads, Chromebooks, desktop computers, etc.)
Take Care of School Property
Use clean hands when handling technology equipment
Use gentle keyboarding/typing
Use two hands to carry all devices
Keep food and drink away from technology equipment
Immediately report all problems with the technology to a teacher
Refrain from anything that compromises the integrity or security of the technology
Protect Copyright
Give credit for words, images or media (including music) from the Internet
Follow copyright guidelines and cite my sources of information
I understand that the technology I use for school is not private; my teacher may look at my work and any online activities to ensure that I am following the rules. I understand that the following consequences will be enforced if there are problems with my technology usage:
First Offense: Loss of all technology privileges for one week, parent notification of the infraction
Second Offense: Loss of all technology privileges for two weeks, parent conference to discuss the infraction
Third Offense: Loss of all technology privileges for eight weeks, parent conference with teacher and principal
